welcome to farley hospital

Farley Hospital is a 17th Century grade 1 listed almshouse that is run as a charity.

We provide 8 separate almshouses, each with 1-3 bedrooms. They are arranged in two wings, around a large central wardenry. The Wardenry can be booked via AirBNB and you can hire direct on this site, and it is used for lots of community engagement and events. All to raise funds for the charity.

The building was commissioned and funded by Sir Stephen Fox who was born in the village, before becoming a very wealthy and prominent figure of the age. He also built All Saint’s Church that sits opposite the Hospital.

The building has had an interesting history and although it has nearly closed numerous times, the charity and board of trustees continue to uphold Sir Stephen’s original purpose for the building and to build a community to look after the building, its residents and its heritage.
